Happy Canada Day Week!
.

.
It’s only nine days until Canada Day which, as you all know, is July 1st. Happy Birthday, Canada! I’m a Canadian and so it’s only natural that this is the most important day of the year for me. If I was still in Canada everything would be free on July 1st, the rivers would all run with beer, and it would rain maple syrup. In America, I have to make my own party, so I’ve teamed up with the Consulate General of Canada to participate in Eat. Drink. Canada. Which I really think should be spelled Eat! Drink! Canada! In fact, let me rectify that right now:
.
Eat! Drink! Canada!
.
Like Voltron, seven Canadian-owned and/or operated restaurants in New York City will join up to form one mighty mega-bargain, offering deals, discounts, and excitement all next week in the run-up to Canada Day on Sunday, July 1st. Restaurants like Dirt Candy, Mile End, and Flex Mussels will form…
.
.
Only, you know, Canadian.
.
So all next week, from Tuesday, June 25 - Saturday, June 30, Dirt Candy will unleashing the following awesomesauce:
.
1) Order any dessert, no matter what country you’re from, and get a free Nanaimo Bar. And that’s not a Dirt Candy Sweet Pea and Mint Ice Cream Nanaimo Bar, but an authentic Nanaimo Bar from Canada. I even had to order ingredients from overseas to make sure I got it right, but I want you to have the authentic taste of Canadian Pride!
.

Every Canadian loves Nanaimo Bars (and yes, that’s some of
Ryan Dunlavey’s awesome art from the Dirt Candy Cookbook).
.
2) Every Canadian gets 10% off his or her bill. Simply present a valid Canadian ID (passport, valid student ID to a Canadian university or high school, Age of Majority card, valid Canadian driver’s license) and get 10% off your bill. So if you bring a Canadian with valid ID to Dirt Candy, as long as they present their ID your whole table gets 10% off the bill.
.
It’s “Take a Canadian to Dirt Candy” Week!
.

Canada is so cool! It’s even friends with
states like South Carolina!
(And that’s even more of Ryan’s art from the cookbook)
.
(Host your own Canada Day celebration!)

Every heart has room for one Canadian!
